Author Max Cummings

I grew up in Texas, Arkansas, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, California and Germany, traveling often as a military brat, then followed in my father's, grandfather's and ancestors' footsteps as a military man myself...family tradition since the American Revolution. In the course of over 40 years, I've adventured around the world, from the United States to Australia/New Zealand to the Far East to the Middle East and Europe to Central and South America and the Pacific and Caribbean.

 

I've always loved new experiences, studying cultures, trying cuisine from every place I visit, experiencing everything a place has to offer, and learning the language. I've been blessed with amazing adventures that include climbing two glaciers and several mountains, free diving and snorkeling with sealife, including sharks and other predators of the deep, playing semi-pro sports (American Football and Rugby) and amateur sports ranging from cricket and Aussie Rules Football to soccer (futbol), volleyball, tennis, wrestling, martial arts/MMA/combat ground fighting, and handball to baseball and basketball. I love anything competitive, but the great outdoors is the ultimate competition...between me and mother nature, I'm bound to end up in misadventure!
